Manager - Roles & Responsibilities
Finsbury
Park Sports Partnership (FPSP) operates the London Marathon Trust Athletics
Track at Finsbury Park. The facility provides for the full range of
Track & Field Athletics competition events, with the grass infield also used as a practice and match pitch
most frequently for American Football, along with a substantial track building
containing a sports gym, meeting room, office and
sizeable changing areas.
Role:
The General
Manager will be responsible for the strategic development of the
our facility as set out in the FPSP Business Plan, as well as managing
all aspects of its daily ongoing operation. The overall responsibilities are
set out below.

Responsibilities:
Strategic-
·
Reporting to
and liaison with the Board of Trustees in ensuring the successful
implementation of the FPSP Business Plan.
·
Maximising business with existing clients and generating
new business. Devising new innovative ways of generating revenue, particularly
for off-peak periods. Engaging in marketing initiatives, identifying
and approaching potential new clients etc.
Developing and enhancing the facility’s website and online presence.

Identifying grant opportunities, making applications and liaising with funders.
Identifying
potential partnerships, volunteer schemes and programmes that may be availed of
in order to reduce costs of running and/or maintaining
the facility. Working with core-users to
organise volunteer make-over days.

Deciding on operational priorities, managing budgets, and
making ongoing income/expenditure decisions and devising operational policies
for general approval of the Board of Trustees.

Dealing with
FPSP’s landlord’s London Borough of Haringey on Landlord/Leaseholder issues.
Seek to develop a stronger partnership with LBOH.

Working on
long term development plans of the facility, in liaison with the Board of
Trustees and/or any Board sub-committees, meeting possible funders such as
London Marathon Trust, Sport England, England Athletics, Mayor of London, L.B.
of Haringey etc.

The
postholder will evaluate and advise on possible future options for enabling
casual general public admission to the facility,
currently not possible due to “operational issues”.
Operational
·
Ensuring all operational requirements for the Facility
are adhered to such as maintaining and renewal of insurance policies, health and safety requirements etc as required.
The above list of responsibilities may not be exhaustive, and the post
holder will be required to undertake such tasks and responsibilities as may
reasonably be expected within the scope of the post
The General Manager will be based primarily on-site at the facility, but can within reason work remotely.
The post-holder will mostly carry out their duties from Monday to Friday
but with the possibility of working occasional weekends, for example in
relation to major events being hosted.
The post-holder will agree a regular work hours schedule with the Board
of Trustees and these can be flexible within reason.
The post will be remunerated at £25 per hour on the basis of a three day week. If in
addition the postholder opts to personally take on tasks normally expected to done by casual staff (eg cleaning,
sports days supervision etc) that shall be payable at the casual staffing rate.
The postholder will be engaged as a self-employed professional and paid
on the receipt of invoice at the end of the month.
